2026 - Challenge the Fabric Paris

This year’s Challenge the Fabric (CTF) focused on turning collaboration from concept into practice, bringing together stakeholders across the MMCF value chain to explore how joint action can unlock real, scalable progress.

The program highlighted the industry’s current crossroads, where sustainability ambitions are challenged by economic pressures and regulatory complexity, and emphasized the need for solutions that are both commercially viable and easy to adopt. Across sessions, collaboration emerged as the key enabler, whether through supply chain partnerships driving material innovation, cross-industry initiatives aligning standards and priorities, or strategic brand collaborations creating new value.

Practical examples showcased how partnerships can accelerate the scaling of circular solutions, strengthen traceability systems, and support the transition away from fossil-based materials. Discussions also addressed the conditions required for success – from building trust and aligning incentives to securing investment and overcoming infrastructure barriers.

From multi-stakeholder initiatives and innovation case studies to investment and traceability discussions, the conference underscored that no single actor can drive change alone. Instead, meaningful transformation depends on coordinated efforts across the ecosystem, making collaboration not just an approach, but a necessity for advancing sustainable textiles at scale.
