A Challenge the Fabric field trip, hosted by ARAUCO

Challenge the Fabric invites brands and industry stakeholders to Chile for four days who are seeking a first-hand understanding of how renewable forest resources can support the transition towards more sustainable textile value chains.

What you will see
  • Textile innovation – how renewable fibres connect to the sustainability agenda brands are working to
  • Dissolving pulp – the manufacturing process at the mill, product qualities, traceability, water, energy, chemical management and application in MMCF fibres
  • Responsible forestry – mechanized harvesting, safety, certified forest management seen in the field
  • Biodiversity – the native temperate rainforest and conservation approach at Oncol Park
Learning on site

Most of the MMCF conversation takes place in conference rooms and in documents. Here we spend the days going through the processes themselves together with the people who run them. Seeing forestry practices and pulp production first-hand creates a shared understanding that supports better decisions and stronger collaboration across the value chain. ARAUCO’s own specialists are with the group throughout, so questions can be put directly to the people who work with the processes every day. Bring the questions your own teams are wrestling with.

Who it is for

Brands, innovators, manufacturers, retailers, NGOs and industry stakeholders working with man-made cellulosic fibres, and just as much those who are not working with MMCFs today but are looking to add it to their material mix, or to build on what they already do.
