Jean-Baptiste Coumau​

Jean-Baptiste helps clients in Europe and Asia solving their most demanding brand challenges through innovative product and content strategies while strengthening their marketing and creative organization.​

Jean-Baptiste was most recently a Partner at McKinsey, located in both Tokyo and Paris offices. While at McKinsey, Jean-Baptiste worked closely in the following sectors: Apparel, Fashion and Luxury, Transport & Leisure & Hospitality, Automotive.​

From 2019-2020, Jean-Baptiste was a Leader in McKinsey Design Asia Pacific, where he built and developed McKinsey Design. He created and lead The New Possible research where McKinsey Designers explored the reflections of >120 people around the world on how they coped with the #COVID19 crisis and how it’s shaping a Post-COVID-19 world. ​

From 2016-2020 he was a People Leader in Marketing & Sales Practice Asia Pacific. He was Marketing & Sales Practice People Leader for APAC, overseeing recruitment, evaluation and promotion, people transfer and staffing, Member of the Regional Operating committees for APAC and member of the global leadership teams of Marketing & Sales practice and Consumer practice. ​

From 2007-2015 Jean-Baptiste was Global Leader of the Marketing & Sales Organization and Capabilities service line. He was Building the Marketing & Sales Organization and Capabilities service line globally. He worked with clients in Fashion, Luxury, Automotive, FMCGs, Museums, High Tech and Insurance Europe USA & Asia.​

Prior to McKinsey, Jean-Baptiste was a partner at IZSAK GRAPIN & ASSOCIES were he focused on Marketing strategy, brand developments, rebranding programs and innovation projects in Luxury, entertainment leisure, media, telecom and government.​

Jean-Baptiste serves on the administrative council of the Friends of the Maeght Foundation, a private museum of modern art located near Nice. Before joining McKinsey Jean-Baptiste was also member of the Blue Ocean Strategy Network founded by INSEAD professors Renée Mauborgne and Chan Kim where he was part of the team in charge of steering the strategy redesign for Singapore.​
